What is it?

Types
Diabetic foot is classified into Neuropathic Foot ( by nerve damage ) and Neuroischemic Foot( by Vascular diseases).

Neuropathy or nerve damage leads to the inability to feel pain in the legs and feet. Peripheral artery disease reduces the healing ability of injury.
In the above scenarios, respective reasons can create infection when an injury takes place, and hence a diabetic foot is formed. These are the two main causes of Diabetic Foot.

Symptoms
Diabetic Foot's symptoms are unusual foot odor, corns, and calluses, swelling, pain, ingrown toenails, changes in skin color and temperature, open sores, etc.

Consequences if left untreated
Complications needed to face if the diabetic foot is not treated on time are deformities, gangrene, abscess, skin and bone infections, amputation, and Charcot's foot.

Treatment
