What is it?
A hammer toe is a deformity in which the middle joint of your toe bends or curls downward, making it seem like a hammer instead of pointing forward. Hammer's toes are developed over a period, due to an imbalance in the toe's tendons, ligaments, and muscles. These misaligned toes can be generally seen more in women rather than men.

Types
The variants of Hammer's toes are claw toes and mallet toes, which are differentiated based on their joint deformity.
